| Moana Eruera & Gaylene Stevens |
Supervision within Aotearoa New Zealand has developed extensively over the past 10 years striving to achieve models, approaches and an identity that responds to the unique context of our society. This has included the development of indigenous models of supervision using tangata whenua frameworks and cultural supervision to support best practice with cultures other than your own.
It is evident that supervisors are seeking knowledge, models and tools which will assist them to provide 'best supervision practice' for Māori supervisees. Further to this supervisors are also seeking to find clarity about supervision for all those working with Māori families.
This workshop is designed to contribute to the development of supervision within Aotearoa when supervising kaimahi Māori. The workshop will provide a facilitated space and process to share experiences, incorporate evidence from research on kaupapa Māori supervision (Eruera, 2005 & Stevens, 2008) and offer the opportunity to develop your supervision practice guided by the 'He Kōrero Kōrari' framework.
Learning Outcomes:
Target Group: Supervisors who provide supervision for kaimahi Māori
No of Participants: Maximum 30
