Comment by 'Vicki Hirst' on Tony Morrison

I first became aware of Tony's work in his workshop in Christchurch in 1984 - he talked about the Professional Accommodation Syndrome and strategies to deal with it and prevent it - one of which, of course, was effective supervision. His subsequent integration of professional supervision into organisational systems spurred me to seek a Human Resource qualification. This has been most influential in my approach to supervision. All supervisees and students with whom I have shared his work have found it most useful in their own supervisory practice. His work will endure and serve as a foundation for the continuing development of supervision as a field of practice in its own right. Rest in peace.

I didn't know Tony personally but his work has been part of my tools and conceptual frameworks as a supervision educator/researcher since the mid 90s. Tony's work has made a difference and will continue to inspire many to follow on in the development of supervision as an essential process in good practice.
